In His Name
On February 4th, 2015 The Board of Trustees of the Islamic Center of America passed a motion to have Imam Sayed Hassan Qazwini take a 60 day Leave of Absence. In the interim it is hoped that the Board, the Sayed and the Community will use the time as a healing period in order to allow the legitimate passions of all to subside. During this period the Board of Trustees will be continually meeting to review policies and procedures and to continue with the reforms that have already started.
The center has been dedicated to the education of the general public and the spiritual growth and betterment of its community. The Islamic Center has a rich history of education and community leadership under the guidance of the pioneering Imam Mohamad Jawad Chirri, in the past, and Imam Sayed Hassan Al-Qazwini at present. The Islamic Center’s success is attributed to the dedication of the community to preserving Islam in North America and their commitment to the education of future generations of Muslims. With the grace and mercy of Allah (God), we share our faith and our house of worship with all those who are willing to learn about Islam and Muslims. The past 50 years are only the start of a new era of serving the community and educating the American public about Muslims and the Faith of Islam.
