Importance of Volunteering
We are welcoming of volunteers and donors. The volunteers are what make ICofA the center of giving, faith and hope. Their efforts support the staff and Imams in reaching out to communities and serving those in need.
We have a variety of opportunities onsite and offsite for individuals or groups who would like to participate. Serving meals, food drive distribution, youth mentoring, tutoring, and cleaning are just a few of the ways a volunteer can participate. Volunteers keep our programs, services, and opportunities going for our men, women, and children. We couldn’t do this without our great volunteers.
Volunteering Opportunities
We are looking for volunteers to assist in the following areas:
- Help provide, prepare, and/or serve meals in our kitchens
- Provide mentoring, tutoring for younger kids/students
- Facilitate activities for members
- Adopt a family for a year
- Work in ICofA landscaping, mechanical/electrical repairs, and/or in our community schools
- Work at our center daycare during events
- Arabic Teachers
- Maintenance
- Office staff
- Security
Volunteering Guidelines
- We keep all information that is obtained, directly or indirectly, concerning those supporting our programs confidential.
- We expect full adhering to Islamic dress code when at the center or at an event sponsored by the center. Wearing proper clothing is mandatory for all participants. Kindly request all volunteers to adhere to ICofA’s dress standards.
- Refrain from giving out your personal contact information, promoting your own business, political or religious beliefs. Also, harassment of any sort will not be tolerated.
- Zero tolerance drug policy. Any person caught with drugs on the premises will be dismissed and authorities will be contacted.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or chaperon. One adult per 5 volunteers under the age of 18.
